9-12-2017 Day 5

Again, a great day - no rain, not too hot and clouds.. We went 65 miles and climbed about 2500 feet with, again, fantastic views.  It is very hard to show the scenes via a camera as they are so huge they just swallow your vision. We are now on highway 6 going from Tonopah north to Ely, but it will take us three days or so.  At present we are working at a rest stop, and in the last four hours we have seen, maybe, 10 vehicles go by.  Talk about the lonely highway!  I did get to do some "Desert Fly Fishing" and even caught a lizard - well I think so but he got away.  I was using a barbless hook.  Tomorrow
we start with another climb and will be searching for - maybe - a place to stay!

Where the rockets live!

From Tonopah going east - a 15 mile valley to cross

Again, 15 or so miles straight east - long

The second summit

Down the other side

Looking 25 miles back west from a summit

Paul P. and Gayle at the end of a climb

Looking east from the last summit

Heading north now

Desert Fly Fishing!

I caught a very feisty lizard!!

This is an upscale place to stay - shade!
